The Airtable MCP server provides full access to your Airtable workspace, enabling AI agents to read, create, and modify data across all your bases. This is particularly useful for content management, project tracking, CRM operations, and any workflow that involves structured data stored in Airtable.

Core Capabilities

Base Discovery & Navigation: Search for bases by name or list all accessible bases in your account. Get detailed schema information including table structures, field types, and configurations.

Record Operations: Query records from tables with full filtering support, create new records with field validation, and update existing records while preserving unchanged fields.

Schema Management: Create new tables with custom field definitions, modify table names and descriptions, add new fields to existing tables, and update field properties.

Health Monitoring: Check server connectivity and status.

Domain Model

Airtable uses a hierarchical structure: Account → Bases → Tables → Records → Fields. Each base contains multiple tables with defined schemas. Records are rows of data conforming to the table's field structure. Field types include text, number, date, attachment, formula, lookup, and many others.

Key Considerations

Always obtain baseId and tableId through discovery operations before performing record or schema operations. Field types have specific validation rules - ensure data formats match expected field types. When updating records or fields, only specified properties are modified; others remain unchanged. Schema changes (adding fields, creating tables) may affect existing automations and integrations within Airtable.
