Cisco Meraki provides cloud-managed IT: wireless, switching, security, device management. Monitor and control network infrastructure remotely.

Data Model

• Organizations — billing and policy roots; everything else hangs off an org id.
• Networks & hardware — sites, appliances, and sensors registered to an organization.
• Operational telemetry — connected clients, WLAN SSIDs, and switch-port states per network.
• Governance — admin users, hardware inventory, license pools, and WAN uplink health.

Typical read order

1. List organizations and note the organization id for the target tenant.
2. List networks and devices under that organization (network ids and serials come from those responses).
3. Network-scoped telemetry uses a network id; device-scoped detail uses a hardware serial.

Gotchas

• Hardware serials: Device APIs expect the chassis serial on the Meraki label, not an internal numeric id.
• Product types: Wireless SSID listing applies only to networks that include the wireless product type; switch port listing applies only to MS-series switches.
• Client history: Network and device client listings are bounded by a timespan window (seconds lookback, up to 30 days).
